How To Unlock Your Samsung Galaxy S4 Or Note 2 Right Now

Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 2 owners can unlock their devices for free by following a couple of simple steps.

If you’re with Verizon, you can only use the phone on that network, but if you unlock it, you can take it to any carrier anywhere in the world. You could emigrate with your phone, or send it to a friend or family member who lives overseas. If this sounds up your street, read on.

You need to start off by inserting a SIM card from another carrier into your phone, then turn your device off and on again.

Then enter this code into your dial pad:

*#197328640#

Go to main menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > wait a minute before heading into menus and choosing back.

You will see ‘Network Lock’ – so you select [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ.

The correct sequence will read:
Asterisk Pound One Nine Seven Three Two Eight Six Four Zero Pound. Remember that some people call the asterisk the ‘star’, and call the pound ‘hash’.

If this has gone right, you’ll have an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4, then you can take it to whatever carrier you want. This code has been used by Samsung for a while, so it might work on other Samsung handsets, too.
